Helpful and exceptional staff, breakfasts were superb.
Quaint hotel, the stay was very lovely, magnificent location in walking distance of all the attractions. Location: the property was just off convenience stores, several restaurants and Shimizu temple and Yasaka Jinja. Stopped by Kagizen Yoshifusa Kodaiji to get some coffee and treats, it's 4-6 minutes walking distance from the venue, recommend. We loved the breakfast.

The ryokan was located in a quiet part of town in a fantastic area. The ground floor rooms looked onto a lovely garden, providing a peaceful atmosphere. The rooms had cozy tatami mats and a traditional Japanese feel, allowing guests to relax and unwind. The hostess, Uemura-san, was incredibly friendly and provided excellent service. She cooked delicious breakfasts, both Japanese and Western-style, ensuring that guests started their day off right. Additionally, the ryokan was conveniently located near major tourist spots, such as Shimizu temple and Yasaka Jinja.
Some guests mentioned experiencing unstable water pressure and limited hot water supply during their stay.

This hidden gem is located on the ground floor, offering an enchanting view of a lovely garden. Nestled in a quiet part of town, it is situated in a basically pedestrian alley, providing a serene atmosphere. As mentioned in the reviews, the host is extremely kind and attentive, treating guests as honored visitors. The room is spacious and comfortable, with soft futons. The bathroom facilities are clean, despite being shared. Guests also highly praise the delicious breakfast options and the exceptional service provided.
For some, the facilities may appear slightly outdated, but this only adds to the charm of the place.

Excellent value for money, spacious and comfortable room with a view of a temple pagoda. The location in old Kyoto was charming, with narrow streets and temples nearby. The staff were incredibly helpful, providing everything we needed and going above and beyond to make us feel welcome.
Menu for breakfast could have been more diverse.

I absolutely loved the warm and welcoming host who made me feel like family. She greeted me with tea and cake upon arrival and treated me as an honored guest throughout my stay. The breakfast provided was outstanding, with a variety of fresh fruit, a delicious side dish, cooked egg and ham, and toast with jam. The location of the hotel was perfect, within walking distance of the main street and surrounded by beautiful temples and shrines. Additionally, the room was spacious and comfortable, with a view of a temple pagoda across the rooftops.
One thing to note is that the toilet rooms in the hotel were quite small, which may be a bit inconvenient for larger guests. However, the shower room was spacious and worked well.

I greatly enjoyed the room with a gorgeous garden view. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast had a lot of options, and the coffee, toast, yogurt, and eggs were fantastic. The hotel was next to the old town and both ancient temples and the modern city, as well as public transport.

I recently stayed at a charming Ryokan in Kyoto for a few days and had the most wonderful experience. The owner, Mrs. Uemura, was incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home. She greeted me warmly and even served me delicious tea after a long day of exploring. Every morning, she prepared a delicious breakfast for me and even added strawberries when I requested them. The traditional Japanese rooms were comfortable and beautiful, with a lovely view of a serene garden. The location was excellent, with shops, restaurants, and a bus stop within close walking distance. Mrs. Uemura even gave me a handmade parting gift and tea. I can't recommend this hotel enough for a truly authentic and delightful experience. Domo arigato gozaimasu!
Strongly recommend this hotel.
